On 21 May 2026, the Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the latest Regulation on Amendments to the Regulation on the Terms of Delivery and Supply of Electrical Energy in the Republic of Serbia (hereinafter: the “Regulation”). The Regulation was published on 22 May in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia No. 48/2026 and it entered into force on Sunday, 30 May 2026.
The most important amendment to the Regulation concerns the conclusion of connection study preparation agreements based on complete applications submitted by electricity producers from variable renewable energy sources before the date of entry into force of the Regulation. Namely, the relevant agreements will be concluded only after 1 August 2029, while connection studies based on those requests will be prepared in the period from 1 September to 31 December 2029.
The most significant amendments introduced by the new Regulation are:
1. Postponement of the conclusion of agreements for the preparation of connection studies until 1 September 2029
2. A detailed procedure for connecting active buyers’ facility to the transmission and distribution systems
3. Rules governing the connection of facilities to the distribution system where final customers apply as a group of customers
