Our partner Milica Pešterić took part in the RES Serbia conference as moderator of a panel dedicated to financing green energy, bringing together representatives from the financial and energy sectors. The panel featured Jelena Simić-Jarić, Svetlana Cerović, Danijel Stojanović and Ivan Bulatović, who joined Milica in discussing the key challenges and opportunities for financing renewable energy projects.
The discussion addressed some of the key questions currently shaping the renewable energy market in Serbia: access to financing, bankability of projects, long-term power purchase arrangements, the role of project finance and the conditions necessary to unlock further investment in the sector.
According to the conference organisers, projects with a combined capacity of approximately 1.2 GW have the potential to reach financial close, highlighting the significant investment opportunities within Serbia’s renewable energy market. The discussions also underlined the importance of continued support mechanisms and a stable regulatory and market framework for further development of the sector.
